| Study Abroad Safety and Liability Study abroad continues to grow in popularity with students, and educators continue to encourage this growth, seeking to help students gain new perspectives and knowledge about the world. But in recent months, colleges and universities have found themselves scrambling to evaluate the safety of their programs. Institutions have worked in haste to evacuate students and staff, as popular study abroad sites became unexpected danger zones. On Thursday, April 21, at 1 p.m. Eastern, Ann Franke, a leading national expert on campus risk management and legal issues, will lead an Inside Higher Ed audio conference exploring how colleges can better identify risks and plan for them – while continuing to encourage students to reap the advantages of international education. The presentation will be relevant a wide range of colleges and universities -- large and small, public and private.
